News Decoder currently has 22 academic partners across 18 countries and 5 continents.

African Leadership Academy seeks to transform Africa by identifying, developing and connecting future leaders who will address Africa’s greatest challenges and accelerate its growth. ALA is based in Johannesburg and brings together students from 46 African countries. It offers students mentorship and leadership training at ALA and throughout their lives.

Avicenne Private Business School is one of Tunisia’s first private business schools. It is dedicated to fostering high quality education through leadership and innovation that prepares students to be business experts and active contributors to the business community and society. APBS grants bachelor and master degrees in finance, business management, marketing and banking.

Chadwick School is a private K-12 school dedicated to developing global citizens with keen minds, exemplary character, self-knowledge and the ability to lead. Chadwick School is located in Palos Verdes Peninsula, California, and has a sister school, Chadwick International, in Incheon, South Korea.

European School Brussels II is one of thirteen European Schools in the European Union, and one of four in Brussels. Like all European Schools, the ESBII offers a multilingual and multicultural education at nursery, primary and secondary levels. Aimed primarily for children of staff of the European Institutions, the school follows a specific curriculum and offers the European Baccalaureate diploma.

Gimnasio Los Caobos is a private preparatory school located in Bogotá, Colombia. The institution has a project-based curriculum. GLC is committed to helping its students build global competencies and empowering them to change their own communities. GLC is consistently ranked as one of the top preparatory schools in Colombia.

Greens Farms Academy is an independent preparatory school in Westport, Connecticut. Its mission is to engage students as partners in an innovative, inclusive, and globally minded community to prepare them for a life of purpose. GFA is one of News Decoder’s founding members and incorporates News Decoder’s services into its World Perspectives Program.

Herlufsholm School is Denmark’s oldest boarding school and one of its most prestigious. Its students get to participate in deep traditions and a rich array of extracurricular activities. Herlufsholm offers its internationally-minded high school students the opportunity to complete an IB Diploma Programme.

The Hewitt School is an all-girls school based in Manhattan. Its motto — “By Faith and Courage” — animates its teaching philosophy. Hewitt encourages girls to have faith in themselves, to take risks and to bounce back from failures. Its academic program is built around four pillars: presence, empathy, research and purpose.

Indiana University is a public research university that serves more than 40,000 students in Bloomington, Indiana. The Media School at Indiana University teaches broadcast, journalism, public relations and other forms of communication. Students at the university’s Media School participate in News Decoder’s program.

Kepler is a Rwanda-based university with campuses in Kigali and Kiziba Refugee Camp. In partnership with Southern New Hampshire University, Kepler enables hundreds of talented students from vulnerable communities — including low-income households, refugees and students with disabilities — to obtain American-accredited bachelor degrees.

La Jolla Country Day School is an independent college-preparatory day school in La Jolla, San Diego, California. La Jolla’s mission is to prepare students for a lifetime of intellectual exploration, personal growth and social responsibility.

Miss Porter’s School is an all-girls school founded in 1843 and located in Farmington, Connecticut. Miss Porter’s mission is to educate young women to be informed, bold, resourceful and ethical global citizens. It expects its graduates to shape a changing world.

Realgymnasium Rämibühl is Zurich’s oldest “Gymnasium” — a publicly funded, academically selective high school or “grammar school”. Its students graduate with the Swiss “Matura”, which entitles them to study any subject at any Swiss university. The Realgymnasium offers an all-round education with special emphasis on modern and ancient languages, and is also an IB World School.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is a coeducational, pre-K to grade 12 day school located in Jackson, Mississippi. Its mission is to nurture a diverse community in the Episcopal tradition, fostering spiritual growth, moral responsibility, academic excellence and artistic and athletic pursuits, while preparing for a life of service to our community and the world.

St. Mary’s School Cambridge was founded in 1898, St. Mary’s provides education and boarding to girls aged 3–18 located in the UK. A Christian school in the Catholic tradition, St. Mary’s educational approach embraces a love for learning, a sense of community and empowering young women to achieve their full potential. 

School Year Abroad is a high school study abroad program for juniors and seniors in Italy, France, Spain and China. Its campuses are located in Zaragoza, Rennes, Beijing and Viterbo. SYA provides students with an American-style education while ensuring they receive a full cultural immersion by living with a local host family.

SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College in Tema, Ghana is a selective preparatory college offering an IB curriculum for students from Ghana and SOS Children’s Villages from all over Africa. Founded in 1990, the School’s philosophy embraces internationalism in its widest sense, a commitment to uplift Africa and active service to the community.

The Tatnall School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school situated on a pastoral 110-acre campus in Greenville, Delaware, near Wilmington. Tatnall is composed of four academic divisions that enroll students from PK3 through Grade 12. Founded in 1930 by Frances Dorr Swift Tatnall, The Tatnall School’s motto Omnia in Caritate (All Things Done in Love) encapsulates the school’s atmosphere and passion for learning.

The Thacher School is a co-educational boarding high school perched at the foot of the Topatopa Mountains in Ojai, California, just outside of Los Angeles. Thacher students encounter a combination of demanding academics, character-building challenges and a strong community culture. Thacher has a unique equestrian program and more than 120 horses on campus.

Transylvania College in Cluj, Romania delivers a progressive 21st-century education by focusing on four main strands: Academics, Leadership, Wellbeing and Global Awareness. Its educational philosophy is that students learn best when they feel part of the process, take responsibility for their development and  feel that they matter as an individuals. Transylvania College is a member of Round Square and COBIS and has been awarded British School Overseas status.

University of Toronto Dalla Lana Fellowship in Global Journalism is the world’s top journalism fellowship for subject-matter experts. It teaches professionals how to report on their disciplines in mainstream media. News Decoder publishes pieces by its fellows both during and after the fellowship.

Our academic partners leverage News Decoder’s editorial team and exclusive online educational resources to help students develop core global citizenship competencies. We work closely with each of our partners to tailor our educational offering to meet their specific needs and interests.

News Decoder is particularly well-placed to partner with schools that have:

  • an international outlook or commitment to global citizenship;
  • a robust global studies or experiential education program;
  • an IB Diploma Programme;
  • a Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) curriculum component;
  • journalism or media classes, clubs or programs;

  • an interest in developing any of the above.

We partner with schools and universities of diverse means and missions. The academic partners enrolled in News Decoder’s program are members of the nonprofit Nouvelles-Découvertes and are eligible to participate in its annual general meeting. As such, they play a critical role in shaping News Decoder’s strategy and future.
